House Rules & Guidelines

General Information

If you miss or need anything concerning the facility, please contact us with confidence. All things that are in the villa or in the attached outdoor area, may and should be used by the guests. The property, the equipment, and its inventory should be handled carefully and with respect. Please also take care that your fellow travellers comply with the rental terms. We believe that our guests won’t intentionally damage things in the Villa, but accidents happen and things break. We would be pleased if you inform us about any damages, and prefer not to find out post departure.

Liability

Guests are liable for damages caused as a direct result of their actions. This includes damages to furniture, furnishings, appliances, dishes, glasses, doors, and any other component of the property. This also includes misuse and consequential disposal of towels and linens. Any damages sustained by guests will be paid for through the security deposit. Please take care of the property and be respectful of it and its possessions.

Guest Occupancy

Within your rental agreement, a certain number of guests is specified. It is not permitted to allow additional guests without first notifying the Property Manager. If additional guests occupy the Villa without the property manager’s consent, you may be requested to vacate the premises.

Kitchen

The Kitchen is fully stocked with all dinnerware, pots and pans, and cutlery that you may require. Feel free to make use of them during your stay but remember to be respectful and cleanup after yourselves. Please take extra care not to dispose of organic waste in the dishwasher or down the kitchen sink, do make use of the trash bins provided. This is very important to avoid drain clogs in your kitchen sink. The stove operates on propane gas which needs to be changed from time to time. Should you happen to run out during your stay, please notify us; we will either instruct you on how to change it or come and do it for you. Please remember there are critters and crawlers abound, try not to leave food out.

Bathroom

No waste, harmful liquids, or similar are allowed to be thrown or poured into the bathroom sink, washing sinks, shower drain, or toilet. Hygiene articles (sanitary napkins, tampons, cotton swabs, etc.) belong in the provided waste container in the bathroom and must be disposed of in the residual waste bag before departure. Absolutely no hygiene products should be disposed of in the toilet bowl as this may lead to severe blockages.

Living Area

We kindly request that you do not rearrange the furniture. In particular, please do not take interior furniture outside.

Sleeping Area

Detailed cleaning and tidying are done by the host every time new guests arrive. All beds are with sanitary protective covers provided, which are cleaned regularly. Please do not remove these covers.

Smoking

There is absolutely no smoking indoors. If you would like to smoke, please do so outdoors, use an ashtray, and ensure all waste and cigarette butts go into the ashtray. Here, there is a high risk of fire, especially during the summer season. Ashtrays are available and should be used. If this is not respected, a cleaning fee of at least $250.00 USD will be deducted from your security deposit. Any burn marks or damage from smoking will also be deducted from your security deposit.

Terrace and Garden

Please enjoy the terrace and gardens, but please be respectful in your general use and utilize the indoor bathrooms as needed.

Garbage Disposal

During your stay, please keep the property clean and tidy. Large garbage bins are provided, please use them and notify us if they need to be emptied prior to your departure.

Pets

Unless specified in your rental agreement, no pets are allowed. Some Villas do have resident cats, other Villas may be visited by stray cats. Please do not let them inside, but please also do not chase them away, they serve a very functional purpose in keeping the rodent population in check.

Duty of Care

Windows and doors should be closed when leaving the property to avoid damage caused by wind or rain. Please make sure when leaving the property, that all lights and electronic devices are turned off and the villa is locked up; the environment and hosts are grateful! The host is not liable for the valuables of the guests, be sure to secure them as best as you can.

Departure

Standard checkout time is between 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. If you would like to request a late checkout, please notify the Property Manager as soon as possible. When preparing to leave the Villa, please ensure that all used towels are left in the Laundry room.

Please clean and store all kitchen utensils, dishes, and cutlery and leave all garbage in the exterior bins. Lastly, turn off all lights and appliances, leave all keys where you found them, and lock all doors.
